I was asked to do this counted cross stitch for someone else. It included changing the tartan to match their family tartan. I used an iPad app called Cross Stitch 2 Go to plan the altered design. It’s great because it lets you use the actual DMC thread colours.
For February 2015 Sketch Challenge.
I chose the football pics to go with the circles in the sketch and added other circle embellishments. (I think this is the first time I’ve added stitching to a layout too!)
Using: Kaisercraft card stock, stamps, clear dots and pearls; Stampin’ Up paper; Inque Boutique stamp; Stamp It embossing powder; Thickers alphas; Crate Paper stickers; Micador water soluble pencils; papers, ribbons and cotton from my stash.
I find sympathy cards difficult to create. I want them to look nice, but not too fiddly and “pretty” so that the card is more about the sentiment than the design.
My family recently lost a friend who has left behind a wife and three little kids. It has been devastating for the whole community. I just wanted to let the family know that I care, that I will cherish the memories of fun times spent together and that they can call on me for support.

A glorious Australian summer day on our first visit to the beautiful Green’s Pool in Denmark, WA.
My son’s middle name is Sol, which means “sun” in Spanish, because he is the sunshine in my life 🙂 For this reason I have been wanting to do a sun-themed layout for ages, so I was really happy to be able to scrap this photo like this. The images and colour on the two paper sets go together perfectly and although the cutting and placement was a bit fiddly I like how the sun’s rays complements the photo.
Using: Fancy Pants Designs Wave Searcher papers, alphas and stickers; American Crafts Amy Tangerine Scatter Sunshine papers; scissors.

We love catching up with our friends in Albany during the holidays. The kids always have a great time together. This wall at the newly renovated cinemas made an irresistible background for a photo.

I made this A4 layout for a friend in memory of her lovely cat. I’ve included a little envelope into which the family can place notes of their favourite memories of Garfield.
I used: Bazill card stock; Kaisercraft Sweet Pea papers and embellishments; Upsy Daisy Designs Sweet Slumber papers; Anna Griffin Lulu rubon alphas; Paper Fields envelope and ribbon from my stash.
